The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), an autonomous R&D institute under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, is inviting applications for contractual positions under the DBT-funded project titled "Quality Control and Quality Assurance Laboratory and Facilitation Centre for Pharmacopeia Standardisation of Herbals and Phytopharmaceuticals in North East India". Located in Guwahati, Assam, IASST is a hub for frontier research in Physical, Chemical, Mathematical, and Biological Sciences. 1. Project Scientist - II

Number of Positions: 1
Salary: ₹67,000 + 18% HRA

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualification:
    • PhD in Natural Product Chemistry, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related disciplines.
    • Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years in isolation and characterization of natural products.
  • Desirable Qualification:
    • Experience in quality systems (e.g., NABL/GLP/GMP).
    • Proficiency in HRMS handling and SOP writing.
    • Publications in reputed journals.
  • Age Limit: Up to 40 years (relaxable as per rules).

2. Project Associate (Administrative Support)

Number of Positions: 1
Salary: ₹20,000 + 18% HRA

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualification:
    • First Class Bachelor’s degree in Science (any science discipline).
    • Good communication skills.
  • Desirable Qualification:
    • Experience in office administration, MS Office, e-office, and project management.
  • Age Limit: Up to 40 years (relaxable as per rules).

3. Project Associate (Technical - Natural Product Chemistry)

Number of Positions: 1
Salary: ₹31,000 + 18% HRA

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualification:
    • First Class MS/MSc/M.Pharm in Natural Product Chemistry or Chemistry.
  • Desirable Qualification:
    • Experience in analytical chemistry, phytochemical testing, and instrumentation (TLC/HPTLC/HPLC/LCMS).
  • Age Limit: Up to 35 years (relaxable as per rules).

4. Project Associate (Technical - Pharmaceutical Sciences)

Number of Positions: 1
Salary: ₹31,000 + 18% HRA

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualification:
    • First Class M.Pharm/MS (Pharm)/Master’s in Pharmacology or Pharmaceutical Sciences (any discipline).
  • Desirable Qualification:
    • Experience in ethnopharmacology, natural product formulation, bioassays, and animal handling/experiments.
  • Age Limit: Up to 35 years (relaxable as rules).

5. Project Associate (Technical - Taxonomy/Pharmacognosy/Ayurvedic Medicine)

Number of Positions: 1
Salary: ₹31,000 + 18% HRA

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualification:
    • First Class M.Pharm/MS (Pharm)/Master’s in Pharmacognosy or BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery).
  • Desirable Qualification:
    • Experience in taxonomic identification, crude plant part microscopy, botanical authentication, and polyherbal formulation.
  • Age Limit: Up to 35 years (relaxable as per rules).

6. Project Associate (Technical - Microbiology/Biotechnology)

Number of Positions: 1
Salary: ₹31,000 + 18% HRA

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualification:
    • First Class Master’s (M.Sc.) in Microbiology or Biotechnology.
  • Desirable Qualification:
    • Experience in microbial testing, molecular biology techniques (e.g., Western blot, RT-PCR).
  • Age Limit: Up to 35 years (relaxable as per rules).

Note: Salary and increments are as per Govt. of India/DBT norms (SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10.07.2020) and may be revised periodically.

Tenure of Appointment

  • Initial Duration: Up to 1 year (extendable based on performance).
  • Project Duration: 5 years, with extensions subject to review.
  • Termination: The position may be terminated at any point with one month’s notice from either side.
