Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
- Medical Candidates: A Postgraduate Medical Degree (MD/MS/DNB) or equivalent in the relevant discipline, or MDS for Dentistry, from a recognized University/Institute as per the Residency Scheme.
- Non-Medical Candidates (for Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology):
- Anatomy: M.Sc., PhD (Human Anatomy)
- Physiology: M.Sc., PhD (Medical Physiology / Physiology)
- Biochemistry: M.Sc., PhD (Medical Biochemistry / Biochemistry)
- Microbiology: M.Sc., PhD (Medical Microbiology / Microbiology)
Additional Notes
- Candidates with MD/MS in General Medicine/General Surgery are eligible for medical/surgical super-specialty departments.
- MD in Paediatrics is eligible for Neonatology.
- MD/MS in Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia, or General Surgery is eligible for Trauma & Emergency.
- MD in Pathology is eligible for Transfusion Medicine.
- MD in Respiratory Medicine is eligible for Pulmonary Medicine.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 45 years as of the notification publication date (12.06.2025).
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD (UR): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
Reservation Criteria
- OBC: Valid OBC-NCL certificate issued between 01.04.2025 and the application closing date, per DoP&T guidelines. Must not belong to the Creamy Layer.
- EWS: Valid Income and Assets certificate issued on or after 01.04.2025, based on FY 2024-25 income.
- PwBD: 4% vacancies reserved horizontally. Candidates must possess a valid disability certificate from an authorized Medical Board, countersigned by the Medical Superintendent.
Other Requirements
- Candidates in government service must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of the interview. Provisional allowance may be granted with a certificate informing the Head of the Department/Organization.
- Qualifications and experience are counted up to the notification publication date.

Selection Process
- Application Scrutiny: Applications will be screened based on eligibility and document verification.
- Interview: Eligible candidates will be called for an interview at the Directors Board Room, Medical College Building, AIIMS Guwahati.
- Merit List: Prepared based on interview performance for all categories (UR/EWS/OBC/SC/ST).
- Document Verification: Selected candidates must report for document verification.

Pay Scale
- Level 11 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (pre-revised PB-3, Rs. 15,600/- + Rs. 6,600/- GP).
- Entry pay: Rs. 67,700/- per month + usual allowances (NPA for medical candidates only).
