Eligibility Criteria

Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries (Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, etc.) with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, or migrated persons require a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit (As on 01-08-2025)

  • MTS: 18-25 years (born between 02.08.2000 and 01.08.2007).
  • Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) and select MTS posts: 18-27 years (born between 02.08.1998 and 01.08.2007).

How to Apply

  • Online Application: Applications must be submitted online at https://ssc.gov.in or via the mySSC mobile application (available on Google Play Store).
  • One-Time Registration (OTR): Candidates must complete OTR on the new SSC website, as previous OTRs from the old website (https://ssc.nic.in) are not valid. Follow instructions in Annexure-III of the notice.
  • Photograph and Signature:
    • Candidates must capture a live photograph during the application process (no pre-existing photos allowed).
    • Signature must be uploaded in JPEG/JPG format (10-20 KB, 6.0 cm width x 2.0 cm height).
    • Applications with inappropriate photographs/signatures may be rejected unless submitted via Aadhaar-based authentication.
  • Application Fee:
    • Rs. 100/- (exempted for Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen).
    • Payment modes: BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit Card.
    • Fee payment deadline: 25-07-2025 (23:00 hrs).
  • Document Upload for PwBD/PwD: Candidates seeking reservation or scribe facilities must upload a Disability Certificate (Annexure-I, IA, XII-XIV) during application.

Reservation and Certificates

  • Reservation: Available for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen, and PwBD as per government orders.
  • Certificates Required:
    • SC/ST: Certificate as per Annexure-IX.
    • OBC: Certificate as per Annexure-X, ensuring non-creamy layer status.
    • EWS: Income & Asset Certificate for 2025-2026 (Annexure-XI).
    • PwBD: Disability Certificate (Annexure-XII, XIII, or XIV).
    • Ex-Servicemen: Undertaking (Annexure-VIII) and certificate for serving personnel (Annexure-VII).

Scribe and Compensatory Time for PwBD/PwD Candidates

  • Eligibility for Scribe:
    • Provided for candidates with blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected), or cerebral palsy.
    • Other PwBD/PwD candidates with less than 40% disability and writing difficulties can avail a scribe with a certificate (Annexure-IA).
  • Scribe Options:
    • Candidates can opt for their own scribe or one provided by SSC.
    • Own scribe must complete OTR, Aadhaar authentication, and not be a candidate in the same exam.
  • Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour for candidates eligible for a scribe, even if they don’t use one.
  • Magnifying Glass: One-eyed or partially blind candidates can use a magnifying glass (self-provided) instead of a scribe.
