Prasar Bharati, India's Public Service Broadcaster, is offering a fantastic opportunity for fresh and dynamic individuals to join as Technical Interns on a full-time contractual basis at Akashvani and Doordarshan Kendras in the North East Zone. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Technical Intern position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years as on the last date of application submission.
  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering in relevant streams such as:
      • Electronics
      • Telecommunication
      • Electrical
      • Civil (only for CCW Guwahati positions)
      • IT
      • Computer Science
    • Degree must be from a Government-recognized university/institution (approved by AICTE/UGC) with a minimum of 65% marks in the relevant stream.
    • Fresh graduates/Postgraduates or those who completed their degree in the academic year 2024-25 are eligible.
    • Candidates awaiting final results may apply with a certificate from the Head of the Institution, subject to meeting the minimum marks criteria upon result declaration.

Job Responsibilities

As a Technical Intern, you will:

  • Assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of broadcast and IT equipment in Radio/TV stations, studios, OB vans, and transmission sites.
  • Support daily technical operations, including signal monitoring, fault detection, live telecast support, uplink/downlink operations, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate on technical planning for infrastructure development, studio upgrades, and Civil/Electrical maintenance.
  • Contribute to digital archiving, server management, and software/hardware troubleshooting under IT operations.
  • Provide technical support for outdoor broadcasts, recce visits, and special live events as assigned.

Duration of Engagement

  • 1 Year (contractual basis)

Consolidated Stipend

  • Rs. 25,000 per month

Terms and Conditions

  • The engagement is purely contractual with no claim for absorption or regularization in Prasar Bharati.
  • Interns will work full-time and cannot take up other assignments during the engagement period.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned beyond the specified duties.
  • The engagement can be terminated with one-month notice or one month's salary in lieu thereof by either party without reason.
  • No pensionary benefits will be admissible.
  • Prasar Bharati may conduct tests/interviews for shortlisted candidates, with no TA/DA provided.
  • The number of positions may be increased or decreased at Prasar Bharati's discretion.
